Nissi Beach

Situated 3 kilometres west of Ayia Napa are the stunning twin beaches of Nissi Bay and Nissi Beach. These beautiful white sandy beaches with vivid turquoise waters stretch for 500 metres and have been awarded the European Blue Flag.

The Nissi Beach takes its name ‘Nissi’ from the Greek word meaning ‘small island’. From the beach, the uninhabited islet can be reached by foot by wading through the shallow waters and is covered with low level vegetation. Various types of birds reside here. The islet shelters the main beach from the wind and creates an ideal area for the many water sports and calm waters which are ideal for children to play safely in.

Behind the beach, there are bars, cafes, restaurants, shops and some excellent top class hotels.

Nissi Beach is a popular place for clubbers to visit during the summer months. Radio 1 Roadshow has been broadcasted from this beach in peak season since 2002.

Watersports on offer include water skiing, paragliding, inflatables, windsurfing and pedal boating. There is also a bungee jump. Two beach volley ball courts are also available to the public.

Nissi Beach is said to be one of the best throughout the whole island of Cyprus.
